Xiaomi Redmi Note 17: Specs, Price and Is It Worth Buying?
A big 7700 mAh battery, a 120Hz AMOLED screen and a price from €259 — the Redmi Note 17 skips the hype and delivers what you actually need day to day.
Xiaomi Redmi Note 17 continues the company's most popular mid-range line. Announced on 27 August 2026, it doesn't chase new technology — it doubles down on what buyers in this class actually want: a big screen, a long-lasting battery and a low price.
Display and design
The phone has a 6.99-inch AMOLED screen with a 120Hz refresh rate and FHD+ (1080 x 2396) resolution. Peak brightness reaches 1800 nits, so the screen stays readable in direct sunlight. Corning Gorilla Glass 7i protects the front, and the body carries an IP65 rating against dust and splashes. It isn't a slim phone — 8.5mm thick and 225g — but that's the trade-off for the large battery.
Battery — the main draw
The 7700 mAh Si/C battery is one of the largest in its class and easily lasts two days of moderate use. Charging is 45W wired (there's no wireless), plus 22.5W reverse charging, so you can top up earbuds or another device from the phone.
Performance
Inside sits a Qualcomm Snapdragon 4 Gen 4 (4nm) with 6 or 8GB of RAM and 128 or 256GB of UFS 2.2 storage (a microSD slot is shared with the SIM). This is an everyday-tasks chip: social media, video and light games run smoothly, but it isn't built for demanding titles. Software is Android 16 with HyperOS 3.
Cameras
The main camera is 50MP (f/1.8) and the selfie camera is 16MP. It's a typical set for the class: good photos in daylight, average at night.
Price and who it's for
In the Baltics the Redmi Note 17 costs roughly €259 (128GB) to €359 (256GB). It's a phone for people who care most about battery life and screen at an affordable price, rather than cameras or gaming performance. If you want more power, the Samsung Galaxy A56 is worth a look. To save even more, check the previous-generation Redmi Note 15. You'll find the full range in the Xiaomi phones section.
