Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8: Specs, Price and Whether It's Worth It
The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8 is on sale now: a wider body, dual 50MP cameras and a 4,800mAh battery. PriceBee prices start at 1,406 €. Here's what matters before you buy.
The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8 was unveiled at Unpacked in London on 22 July 2026 and reached Baltic shops in early August. It succeeds the Galaxy Z Fold 7 with a wider, shorter body and reworked cameras. On PriceBee it currently starts at 1,406 € for the 256GB model — noticeably below the 2,000 € official launch price. Here's what you get.
Design: wider, not taller
This year the Z Fold 8 changes its proportions — it is wider and shorter than earlier Fold models, so unfolded it looks like an almost-square tablet. Folded it measures 9.7 mm thick, unfolded just 4.5 mm, and it weighs 201 g. The body carries an IP48 dust-and-water rating, the cover screen uses Gorilla Glass Ceramic 3, and the frame is aluminium.
The classic tall "book" format with a thinner body has moved to the separate, pricier Galaxy Fold 8 Ultra.
Displays
The inner screen is a 7.6-inch LTPO OLED (2,448 × 1,848); the outer cover screen is a 5.5-inch LTPO OLED (1,248 × 1,972). Both run at 1–120Hz and reach up to 3,000 nits, so outdoor visibility is no longer an issue.
Cameras: two 50MP sensors, no telephoto
This is where it is easy to get confused. The standard Z Fold 8 has a 50MP main sensor (f/1.8, with OIS) and a 50MP ultrawide (f/1.9, 120° field of view). There is no dedicated telephoto — zoom is cropped from the main sensor. Each display carries a 10MP front camera. Video goes up to 4K 60fps, or 8K 30fps on the main camera.
If photography is your priority, the 200MP sensor and a real telephoto belong to the Galaxy Fold 8 Ultra, whose 256GB version costs only a little more on PriceBee — from 1,458 €.
Performance and battery
Inside sits the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 for Galaxy, with 12GB (256/512GB models) or 16GB (1TB) of RAM. The battery is 4,800mAh — not the 5,000mAh early rumours promised — but charging jumps to 45W wired (up from 25W) and 20W wireless. It ships with Android 17 and One UI 9, and promises up to seven major OS updates.

Is it worth it?
The Z Fold 8 is for anyone who wants a tablet-sized screen in their pocket for work and running several windows at once. If you want the best camera and the thinnest body, it is worth paying up for the Galaxy Fold 8 Ultra. If price matters most, last year's Z Fold 7 is still an excellent choice.
