Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 8: Price, Specs and Colours
The Galaxy Z Flip 8 is on sale now. Here is the official clamshell price, full specs, every colour and the first review verdict – no more leaks or guesswork.
Samsung unveiled the Galaxy Z Flip 8 on 22 July at Unpacked, and it went on sale in early August. The official European price is €1,299 for the 256 GB version and €1,499 for 512 GB. Below are the confirmed specs, colours, price and what the first tests have shown.
Design: thinner and lighter
The Flip 8 weighs 180 g, 8 grams less than its predecessor. Folded, it is 13.1 mm thick, thinning to 6.1 mm when opened. Samsung promises a nearly invisible display crease and IP48 protection against dust and water.
Displays
The main 6.9-inch OLED screen runs at 120 Hz and reaches up to 2,600 nits. The external 4.1-inch cover display lets you reply to messages, control music and take selfies with the main camera without opening the phone.
Performance and battery
In the Baltics the Flip 8 runs the 2 nm Exynos 2600 chip with 12 GB of RAM (the US, Canada and China get the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5). The battery stays at 4,300 mAh, the same as its predecessor. Charging is 25 W wired (about 50% in half an hour) and 15 W wireless.
Cameras
The back carries a 50 MP main (f/1.8) and a 12 MP ultrawide (f/2.2) camera, with a 10 MP front shooter. Video goes up to 4K 60 fps.
Colours and storage
The Flip 8 comes in four colours: Graphite, Cream, Pink and Mint, with Mint sold exclusively through Samsung.com. Storage is 256 GB or 512 GB, with no microSD slot.
What the first reviews say
A month after launch, the first reviews are in. In Tom's Guide's battery test the Flip 8 lasted about 12 hours – essentially the same as the Flip 7 (12h 24m) – and 22 hours in a 4K video playback loop. The takeaway: battery life has barely moved. If longevity is your priority, rivals with a 5,000 mAh battery such as the Motorola Razr 2026 last longer in testing.
Price and rivals
The 256 GB version costs €1,299 in Europe, and the 512 GB model €1,499. If you want a larger folding screen, the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8 is worth a look. The Flip's main rival is the Motorola Razr 2026, and you can browse the full range in the Samsung phone catalogue.
Who it is for
The Flip 8 is aimed at people who want a compact, pocketable phone and care about style. There are few changes over the previous model: if you already own a Flip 7 it is not worth upgrading, but for new buyers it is one of the most stylish phones you can get. Rumours that the Flip 8 would be Samsung's last clamshell have not panned out: the Galaxy Z Flip 9 is expected in 2027.
