On July 22 Samsung unveils two new smartwatches. Here is everything we already know.

On July 22, at the «Galaxy Unpacked» event in London, Samsung will unveil two new smartwatches — the Galaxy Watch 9 and Galaxy Watch Ultra 2. The company confirmed the date officially; everything else so far comes only from leaks.

Galaxy Watch 9: familiar design, stronger battery

The Galaxy Watch 9 keeps the round display in a squircle-shaped case. There will be two sizes — 40mm with a 1.34-inch screen and 44mm with a 1.47-inch screen. Both use a Super AMOLED panel with up to 3,000 nits of brightness and sapphire crystal protection.

The biggest change is the battery. The 40mm model gets a 382mAh cell (about 23% more than the Galaxy Watch 8), while the 44mm gets 435mAh. Inside there is likely a 3nm «Exynos W1000» chip with 2GB of RAM and 32GB of storage. There is no rotating-bezel «Classic» model this year — that line has ended.

On the software side, the new «Heart Health Score» metric replaces the older cardio-load measure, and a «Hearing Health» feature tracks ambient noise and earbud volume. The watch runs «One UI 9 Watch» built on «Wear OS 7».

Galaxy Watch Ultra 2: brighter, thinner, Qualcomm inside

The Ultra 2 is a bigger leap. Leaks (published by well-known insider Evan Blass) point to a display reaching 5,000 nits — nearly double the previous Galaxy Watch Ultra. The battery grows from 590 to roughly 800mAh, the case is 12% thinner, and durability rises to IP69K alongside 10ATM and MIL-STD ratings.

Most notably, the Ultra 2 drops «Exynos» for the first time in «Galaxy Watch» history and moves to the «Qualcomm Snapdragon Wear Elite» chip. That should mean faster performance and better power management.

Prices and when to buy

According to leaks, the Galaxy Watch 9 will cost around €409 (40mm) and €439 (44mm), while the Galaxy Watch Ultra 2 lands in the €649–€749 range. Official figures arrive at the launch, and sales should begin in August.

The Galaxy Watch 9 targets the everyday user who wants the «Samsung» ecosystem, health features and longer battery life. The Ultra 2 is aimed at athletes and adventurers chasing maximum brightness and durability — it goes head to head with the Apple Watch Ultra 3.
