Oppo Find X9 Ultra: Why Photographers Are Paying Attention
Oppo new photography flagship pairs a twin periscope with the first 50 MP 10x optical zoom camera in a phone.
Oppo has launched its new photography flagship, and it makes a serious case against carrying a dedicated camera. The Find X9 Ultra stands out for its twin-periscope system, headlined by the first 50 MP 10x optical zoom camera in a phone.
Camera: two periscopes and Hasselblad
The rear array is tuned with Hasselblad and packs four lenses:
- 200 MP main (f/1.5, OIS)
- 200 MP 3x periscope (70 mm, OIS)
- 50 MP 10x periscope (230 mm, OIS) — a smartphone first
- 50 MP ultrawide (123°)
The front camera is 50 MP. The 10x optical zoom captures distant subjects without losing quality, and a new five-fold prism periscope folds a long optical path into the slim body.
Display and performance
The Find X9 Ultra has a 6.82-inch LTPO AMOLED screen with WQHD+ resolution (1440 × 3168), a 144 Hz refresh rate and up to 3600 nits of brightness, making it easy to frame shots in sunlight. Inside sits the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 (3 nm) chip with up to 16 GB of LPDDR5X RAM.
Battery and durability
The 7050 mAh battery supports 100 W wired and 50 W wireless charging. The body carries IP68/IP69 dust and water resistance, weighs 235 g and uses an aluminium frame with Gorilla Glass Victus 2. It runs Android 16 with ColorOS 16.
Versions and price
The phone comes in three storage tiers — 256 GB, 512 GB and 1 TB — and in Tundra Umber, Canyon Orange and Polar Glacier. In Europe pricing starts at around €1,699. It is not on sale in Baltic shops yet, but once offers appear you will find them in our listing.
Who it is for
The Find X9 Ultra is built for people who put the camera first. Its rivals are the Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra and Xiaomi 15 Ultra, but the dual periscope and 10x optics set Oppo apart. You can browse all Oppo phones in our catalogue.
