Google Pixel 10 Pro vs Samsung Galaxy S26: Which Should You Buy?
Two Android flagships, two different philosophies: the lighter, cheaper Samsung or the camera-focused Google. We compare screens, cameras, performance and price.
Both phones run Android and cost flagship money, but they chase different buyers. The Google Pixel 10 Pro is a camera-first phone built around Google's software, while the Samsung Galaxy S26 is a lighter, cheaper all-rounder. Here is how they actually differ.
Design and build
The Galaxy S26 is the more comfortable phone to hold. It weighs just 167 g and is 7.2 mm thick, against 207 g and 8.5 mm for the Pixel. Both share the same 6.3-inch screen size, IP68 water resistance and a Gorilla Glass Victus 2 front, but the 40-gram gap is obvious after a day in your pocket. The Pixel's extra weight comes from its wide camera bar and bigger battery.
Display
This round goes to Google. The Pixel 10 Pro uses a sharper QHD+ panel (1280 x 2856) that peaks at 3300 nits, while the Galaxy S26 sticks with a Full HD+ (1080 x 2340) screen topping out at 2600 nits. Both are LTPO OLED with a 1–120 Hz adaptive refresh rate, so scrolling is equally smooth, but the Pixel is crisper and easier to read in bright sun.
Camera
This is the clearest reason to pick the Pixel. Both use a 50 MP main sensor, but the Pixel adds a 48 MP ultrawide and a 48 MP 5x telephoto, against Samsung's 12 MP ultrawide and 10 MP 3x telephoto. That means longer, cleaner zoom and more detail, backed by Google's computational photography and the new Tensor G5 image processor. The Galaxy still shoots excellent photos and its selfie camera is dependable, but for zoom reach and low-light detail the Pixel leads.
Performance and battery
Samsung wins raw speed. The Galaxy S26 runs the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 (Exynos 2600 in Europe), which benchmarks higher than the Pixel's Tensor G5. Tensor instead leans into on-device AI, helped by the Pixel's 16 GB of RAM versus 12 GB on the Samsung. For battery, the Pixel's 4870 mAh cell is larger than the Galaxy's 4300 mAh and charges a little faster at 30 W against 25 W — though neither is quick by 2026 standards. Both offer 15 W wireless charging.
Price and value
The Galaxy S26 is the value pick. It launched at €659 for 256 GB, while the Pixel 10 Pro started around €1099 for 128 GB — so Samsung gives you double the base storage for less. Both promise seven years of Android updates, so long-term support is a tie.
Verdict
Buy the Galaxy S26 if you want a compact, light phone with top performance and the better price. Buy the Pixel 10 Pro if the camera and display matter most and you prefer clean Android with Google's AI features first. For most buyers, the Samsung is the smarter all-round buy; for photography lovers, the Pixel earns its premium. Browse more smartphones to compare current prices.
